ARC announces series of conversations on the impact of COVID-19 as part of Arts Council Malta's ACMlab

A six-week series of conversations as part of Arts Council Malta's ACMlab series will start on Wednesday 1 April 2020. The topics being presented draw from the results of a survey carried out by ARC Research & Consultancy on the impact of COVID-19 on the cultural and creative sectors. In these sessions, we shall seek to cover topics that enable creative practitioners to deal with challenges brought on by COVID-19, as well as to present opportunities to evaluate and discuss how the sectors operate on a long-term basis. View the survey's initial findings and reactions here and read more about the sessions below.

Session #1 of 6: Creating Opportunity out of Crisis

We will start off these sessions by acknowledging the extraordinary context which COVID-19 has placed everyone in, including the cultural and creative sectors. History shows us that creating opportunity out of crisis is indeed possible - but how do we do that in the face of such uncertainty and instability? How are we meant to create connections in a time of global isolation?

The panel for this session will be made up of Kathrin Deventer (European Festivals Association), Kristina Borg(socially engaged artist), Silvana Aquilina Naudi (Gestalt Psychotherapist). Dorian Mallia (Moveo Dance Company) will be carrying out movement interventions during the session with the aim of getting us to move collectively during the two-hour conversation.
