Artists Meet-Up: Online Performances

Over the past months and across the globe, there have been numerous efforts to engage with online possibilities in the performing arts sector. The project ‘Chronicles of a Spring not as Planned: Resources for Online Performances’ by ARC Research & Consultancy is supported by the Malta Arts Fund Special Call and has explored the working procedures to create, set up, and produce online performances as well as the challenges encountered by this process with regards to aesthetic, ethic, and artistic procedures.

What is the difference between streamed performance and live online performance?
Are artists willing to explore online performance as another form through which to present artistic work?
Where does one begin?

An online toolkit has been created with the purpose of enabling producers, directors, performers and theatre practitioners to explore online performance possibilities through recommendations on • technical production • production management • marketing and communications, audiences • financial sustainability.

Join us for this online event on Tuesday 27th October at 6PM, which will consist of the facebook live streaming of a 10-minute documentary on the topic, followed by a ZOOM Artists Meet-Up in which we will chat about the experience of performing online as well as the future of the performing arts, including the notion of creating performances for online audiences.
